Welcome at the HEServis website. HEServis is specialized in made to measure software and hardware. HEServis has been active for several years developing communication software for the physically disabled.

Where standard products are not applicable, HEServis can do the whole path from advice, design and building a possible solution.

Aug. 2009: New input device in production.

Since HEServis is often asked to do the almost impossible we sometimes find it hard to find the perfect switch. In some cases it seems impossible, due to a combination of reasons such as spasms, the pulsing movement of facial muscles, change of body position after a cough, etc. So we keep on searching and developing new products in our laboratory. The newest Switch, used already by three patients, is activated by a very small movement of a body muscle. A special camera detects this movement and translates this into the selection of characters to spell a word, or to control the television set, all done with our product SIDE. Because of the ease of operation, also for the caregivers this system is very easy to use in hospitals. Next month some more patients are going to try this new invention.

An Olijslagers started last month at our company to help us with programming and advise.

Sept. 2006: SIDE now available with online webbrowser.

The communication program SIDE, especially for quadriplegic persons with a visual impairment, is now available with webbrowser. It already was possible to write and read messages, and receive and send email messages, now one can also browse the internet.

Using a screen magnifier and special scrolling techniques it is now possible to view a webpage even for people who cannot move their eyes, or have a blurred vision. For more information see the SIDE page.

May 2006: HEServis is official Brainfingers Distibutor.

Since april 27th HEServis is an official distributor for Cyberlink Brainfingers. With this system a computer can be controlled using Brainsignals only.

March 2005: Browsing the Internet with SIDE?

The plans to use SIDE to browse the Internet already do exist a long time to make it possible for persons suffering from the Locked-In-Syndrome to do basic web browsing all by themselves. Making this possible in a workable solution sounds easier than it is. The first prototype is promising although a lot of work has to be done.

The final program lets the user browse through web pages with a single switch, and make the pages visible for persons with limite vision and who can only move their eyes from up to down, which is typical for locked-in.

The first beta version of SIDE with internet functionality is expected at the end of october 2005.

Januari 2005: Control your TV, radio and DVD with a single switch.

With the aid of an adapted remotecontrol it is possible to control three different functions of every device supporting infra red remote control. With the use of this device it is possible to decide yourself what to see or hear.

December 2004: Latest SIDE version supports graphic symbol languages.

The latest version of SIDE available now supports graphic symbols. This will allow the user to create a sentence even faster.

May 2004: YENO deliverable.

With the YENO a small speaking module physically disabled can 'speak' using a single switch.

YENO speech module.

YENO portable speech module for 2 til 10 spoken messages.

March 2004: External display.

Now SIDE can control an external two line display. This in Addition to the texts displayed on the main display.

SIDE external Bluetooth wireless display.

With this external display the user can now better communicate with other people. The display will be delivered standard with a wireless bluetooth communication link.

May 2003:SIDE Demo available as free download.

On the downloads page a demo version of SIDE is available. Use this version to get an impression of SIDE or to test it with a future user.Download SIDE Demo

April 2003:First version of SIDE with wordprediction.

From SIDE version 1.4.2 and up it is possible to select words from a build in dictionary. New words are automatically stored in a user dictionary. Dictionary's are available in English and Dutch. Other languages are available on request.

Nov 2002:SIDE linked with Outlook Express.

From now on it is possible to read and write your e-mail messages directly from SIDE.
The method to read internet pages directely from SIDE is under development.
